Coyolxāuhqui — She of the Golden Bells — is the Aztec moon goddess, daughter of the earth mother Coatlicue, sister to the four hundred stars of the southern sky. Her story is one of ambition, conflict, and ultimate transformation: defeated in battle by her brother Huitzilopochtli, she was cast into the sky and became the moon itself. In defeat she became eternal.
This bandana features original artwork depicting Coyolxāuhqui as the warrior she is: golden bells painted on her cheeks, a great crescent moon headdress blazing silver, her body armored with lunar symbols and sacred markings, an obsidian blade and moon-disk shield in hand — surrounded by the cold blue glow of moonlight that she commands forever.
